POSITION: Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science invites applications for a Tenure-Track position in Mathematics at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science consists of seven full-time faculty and more than 100 undergraduate students seeking majors in Mathematics, Discrete Applied Mathematics, Mathematics Education, and Computer Science along with minors in those disciplines and Information Technology. DUTIES:
- Teaching undergraduate classes as assigned by the department chair
- Engaging in scholarly activities
- Maintaining an active research agenda
- Serving on departmental and university-wide committees
- Advising undergraduates
- Earned Doctorate in Mathematics or Mathematics Education by August 2013
- University-level teaching experience
- Evidence of potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching
- Evidence of active research
- Experience in university-level curriculum development
- Research activity in discrete mathematics, algebra, or related fields
- Coursework or professional experience in software development, computer programming, or theoretical computer science
