FAIRFIELD ? As part of the first Association of Jewish Aging Services (AJAS) Senior Health Care Briefing at the White House in Washington DC in October, Andrew H. Banoff, President & CEO of The Jewish Home, a premiere provider of senior health services in Conn., participated in a Panel on Elder Abuse.
The Briefing was organized by the White House to address Administration Initiatives in the Area of Elder Abuse, the Affordable Care Act; Medicare/Medicaid and Home and Community Based Services. The panel discussions with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), allowed The Jewish Home leadership to present and discuss key topics and how our communities are serving the elders in new and innovative ways. The Administration acknowledged the many important contributions that Jewish communities have made to the field of aging services and appreciated the ongoing dialogue on how to best service those in our trust.
Banoff?s participation was significant because The Jewish Home is a leader in senior health care providing a full continuum of services and a resident-centered approach to care. It is also one of the first organizations in the Nation to have a resource for Elder Abuse Prevention. (http://jhe.org/elderabuseprevention.htm).
?I was privileged and honored to be a part of this historic event because of the innovations The Jewish Home has achieved in all of the key areas addressed in this Health Care briefing.? We are very proud of the resources we provide to seniors in our community, and excited to let more seniors know that we have resources available to them.? Banoff remarked.??
